| Other Stop Smoking Pills |
As per the studies in America nearly 80 percent of smokers think
they should quit smoking and most of them also think that stop
smoking pills have that latent wonder treatment that takes the pain,
distress and ordeal of smoking cessation away from them. There are
various optional treatments in stop smoking pills. Each pill has
varying rate of success linked to it. Of some available stop smoking
pills, two are most commonly used effective pills as mentioned
hereunder.
The first stop smoking pill is considered as the most efficient is
Zyban, launched during 1970s as treatment for depression then marked
as Wellbutrin. During clinical trials, researchers found that test
patients widely reported of having stopped smoking remarkably. This
led them to further study the drug use where concentration was
emphasized on smoking cessation to ascertain the consequences of
Wellbutrin on smokers.
After continued studies it is widely admitted that 16 percent of
smokers who attempted giving up smoking by using Wellbutrin as stop
smoking pill treatment, succeeded after twelve weeks. The medication
works effectively but disturbs normal brain chemistry connected with
nicotine addiction.
Chantix or Varenicline is the second stop smoking pill launched by
Pfizer Inc. and is believed to be even more effective. Though highly
criticized, the company based on its studies claims that this new
stop smoking drug has the success ratio of 44 percent. The
independent reviews of all studies related to Chantrix however, show
that the success rate is only around 22 percent.
It is suggested that do not simply rely on any formulator’s hypes
and propagandas and try to study all pros and cons of the pill you
intend to take for giving up smoking. |
